Welcome to SEAM!

Hello and welcome to the official website for SEAM: Sewing Enthusiasts and Artists of Maine.

SEAM began in 2011 as a collaboration between the owners of three of Maine's hippest, most fabulous fabric stores. Alewives Fabrics of Nobleboro, Fiddlehead Artisan Supply of Belfast and Z Fabrics of Portland are all SEAM headquarters, with meetings held bi-monthly at one of these three shops.

The purpose of SEAM is to provide a place where sewing enthusiasts and artists of Maine can gather and celebrate their passion as a community. We welcome sewists of all levels: you don't have to be a master seamstress or an accomplished quilter to join in the fun at SEAM, you just have to be someone who loves sewing and fabric!

At our meetings, we try to have a speaker, a special guest, a fun activity or a special demonstration planned. We love to do show and tell, so be sure to bring your latest projects. And if you've got some hand-work to do (embroidery, knitting, hexagons, applique, yo-yo's, etc.) please feel free to bring it with you to the meeting!

  1. Rhea - This is my first "must do" event on the 2012 calendar! It will be well worth driving to Maine, turning the water back on and heating up the cottage to attend. I will bring Three Pepper Jelly and fixins! Cheers! Rene
